apple cranberry tarts

These tart are so good. Use my Magic Pie Pastry or store bought pastry. Plate or box them up to give away during the holiday season.



Annabelle’s Magic Pie Pastry (click on the link to the left)

2 Granny Smiths – peeled and cut into small pieces

2 Red Apples – peeled and cut into small pieces

¼ cup sugar

¼ tsp ground cinnamon

Juice from ½ a lemon

½ cup dried cranberries

Milk for pastry wash




  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, add apple, sugar, cinnamon and lemon and cranberries and cook until apples are tender. Remove from heat and set aside until cool.
  2. Preheat oven to 175 degrees C.
  3. Roll out the dough to a thickness of 1/3cm and use a cutter to stamp out rounds. Use a star shaped cookie cutter to stamp out an equal number of stars.
  4. Line your pan with the pastry-rounds and fill tarts with cranberry-apple filling. Top with pastry star and brush the stars with milk. Bake for 25 minutes or until pastry is golden brown. Cool and dust with icing sugar.
